The plain-English version: when you book a court on RacketSync, your booking contract is with the venue providing the court, and your payment is processed directly to that venue's own Stripe account. 1.Platform role
RacketSync operates an online marketplace that enables users to discover and book sports courts and related services from third-party venue providers ("Clubs").
RacketSync is a technology platform only. It does not provide court hire services and is not a party to the booking contract between the customer and the Club.
2.Contract formation
When a booking is confirmed, a contract is formed directly between the customer and the relevant Club for the provision of court hire services.
3.Payments — direct to the venue
Payments for bookings are processed by Stripe directly to the relevant Club's own connected Stripe account. The Club is the merchant of record for the court hire transaction and receives the funds.
RacketSync does not hold customer funds. It charges the Club a separate platform fee, which Stripe deducts at the time of the transaction and routes to RacketSync. Card statements and Stripe receipts will reference the Club as the seller.
Matchmaker games & per-player shares. When the matchmaker proposes a group, every invitee has a single short window (currently 12 hours) to accept the proposal AND pay their share; the court is held provisionally during that window. Each player is charged only for their own share of the court — to the same Club's connected Stripe account — and only after they themselves accept inside the 12-hour window. There is no pooled charge held by the host. If any player fails to accept or pay before the deadline, the proposal collapses, the provisional court hold is released, and any pre-paid players are refunded in full automatically. Each share includes a small per-seat platform booking fee (currently £0.79) which is charged together with your court share but is treated as a separate, non-refundable platform charge.
4.Club responsibility
The relevant Club is solely responsible for providing the booked court hire services, including venue access, maintenance, availability, and fulfilment of the booking.
5.Refunds & cancellations
Refund and cancellation rights may vary by Club and are subject to the applicable Club's cancellation policy displayed at checkout.
Refunds are issued from the Club's connected Stripe account back to your original payment method. RacketSync may administer eligible refunds on the Club's behalf through the platform in accordance with the rules below. See our cancellation policy and refund policy for the standard thresholds applied across the platform.
Joiner self-serve cancellations. After a confirmed matchmaker game, if you want to leave you can do so from your bookings page. Cancel more than 24 hours before the court start time and your court share is refunded automatically from the Club's connected Stripe account; your seat is released back to the matchmaker. The per-seat platform booking fee (currently £0.79) is non-refundable in all cases. Inside the 24-hour window your share is locked and no refund is due — the rest of the group plays on.
Stripe processing-fee reimbursement. Stripe does not refund its own card-processing fee when a charge is refunded. To keep venues whole on every refund, RacketSync transfers the proportional Stripe fee back to the Club's connected account from the RacketSync platform balance. This does not change your refund as a customer — you still receive the full court share back to your original payment method.
